Golden Pass LNG awarded scholarships to twelve regional high school graduates pursuing process technology as part of the seventh class of the Golden Pass LNG Scholarship for Process Technology Program founded in 2020. The students from five different high schools across the area will receive full tuition scholarships as well as mentorship, career counseling and networking opportunities from Golden Pass as they pursue rewarding careers in process technology.

Process Technology is an in-demand career with opportunities for students to start careers close to home. Golden Pass developed the scholarship in 2020 to provide an opportunity for local students to take advantage of the jobs offered by industrial companies like Golden Pass LNG’s liquefied natural gas export facility, which shipped its first export of LNG earlier this year. The facility has created hundreds of permanent jobs based in Sabine Pass to support its operations.

“We’re humbled to play a role in helping our scholarship program participants achieve their goals,” Jeremy Horn, Vice President Operations, Golden Pass LNG, said. “We’re committed to ensuring the next generation of Southeast Texans is prepared to take advantage of the opportunities for good work close to home created by local industry.”

“We are so proud of our students and all they have accomplished already. With the right tools, we hope to help all those participating in our program start rewarding careers,” said Mary Ann Reid, Golden Pass LNG Community Affairs Advisor.

Golden Pass LNG’s community investment programs place emphasis on prioritizing local residents and businesses for hiring and contracting opportunities, as well as providing educational outreach, training and other resources to help local residents prepare to take advantage of those opportunities.
