Eight high school graduates know what they’ll be doing a couple of months from now: beginning training for an exciting career – for free – thanks to the Golden Pass LNG Scholarship for Process Technology.

Golden Pass LNG, in partnership with Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor CCZJV, launched the Southeast Texas Workforce Guide, an online resource that connects students and job seekers with information about jobs with industry, including those being created by the Golden Pass LNG export project under construction in Sabine Pass.
While Southeast Texas perseveres through the COVID-19 crisis, many companies and residents are getting a boost from opportunity brought to the area by the Golden Pass LNG export project. The project’s EPC contractor CCZJV has committed over $245 million to more than 150 local businesses so far, and more than 650 local residents are working on the construction site. The project’s total payroll to local residents since project inception is over $31 million. And there are still years of opportunity ahead.
Golden Pass LNG awarded scholarships to eight high school graduates beginning an Associate Degree of Process Technology at Lamar Institute of Technology and Lamar State College – Port Arthur. The scholarships cover up to three years of P-Tech and liquefied natural gas process education to prepare students for work with the Golden Pass LNG export project currently under construction in Sabine Pass.

The Golden Pass Products LLC export project at the existing Golden Pass LNG facility in Sabine Pass, Texas, is moving forward following a positive final investment decision from its owners, affiliates of Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil.
The Foundation for Southeast Texas today announced the recipients of the second round of grants from the $1.5 million Golden Pass Hurricane Harvey Recovery Fund. The first phase of the Opportunity Roadmap is a Local Business Initiative, which gives local businesses an opportunity to get “pre-screened” to compete for work with the proposed Golden Pass Products liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project.
